Has anyone attended Harvard, Yale, Tufts, Boston University, or UMass? What's it like studying it there?

I'm in high school as of now and I'm thinking of applying to get into these universities. I really want to study at Harvard, but I know it's hard to get into. For current students or alumni, what's it like to attend in these universities? How good are they when it comes to academics? How would you rank the professors? What about the admission process? Did you do anything special in high school or in the community? Thanks for your help.

P.S. I'm also thinking of going to Princeton. Has anyone else studied or is studying at Princeton or at another Ivy League university?

erm, i have lots of friends that did, harvard and yale are ives and tufts, boston, and UMass are not even in the same league. ppl who graduated with 4.0s and 2400 on SATs get rejected at princeton and yale and harvard all the time.. i suggest you maintain a high grade point average and get a high SAT score, at least 2000, but also do extracurricular activities. someting that makes you stand out. good luck.
Reply:I'm a current BU student and I absolutely love it.

For me, studying at BU has been a great challenge, I've learned so much but it was nothing like HS. I love the variety of subjects and the teachers are fantastic.

I didn't do so well on the SATs, but I had straight A's in HS and wrote a kick *** essay. I was also overly involved in extracurricular activities. I did a lot of community service too.

BU admissions like students who push themselves and are well-rounded.

I love BU!
Reply:You have to be a freakin valedictorian to get into those schools! Not happening with me. I am an above average student, but not a genius. Good luck though.
Reply:Personally, I haven't... I'm still in high school. But, obviously those schools are top tear when it comes to academics. You have to be at the top 3% ish to get in and being a minority would help. Work in the community and if you're not yet an upperclassman... run for a class office position. If you're a good student try to aim for a school a little less prestigeous than those listed above^^^. Boston College, Wake Forest, William%26amp;Mary, Vanderbilt etc. When it comes to getting to a decent school I'm nervous myself. But hopefully those tips might help...?
