Harvard, Yale, and the others have a very prestigious reputation, so many go there especially for graduate studies b/c those are names that employers recognize and respect. So for the most part, people assume they will automatically get hired and receive higher salaries by going to those schools.
Top two reasons for attending Harvard University?
In undergrad, it almost doesn't matter, there are lots of great schools out there, but here are my reasons for wanting to attend that school for graduate studies:
1. because their philosophy department is outstanding.
2. because I can get a job teaching with a degree from harvard
Reply:cause it has a good name cause it's a ivy league....that's why most people go even thought they won't admit it
