Does anybody know how to get a scholarship at harvard university and can u name a student? plz i need ur help!
Lots of students want to go to Harvard. They are highly selective in admission and even more selective when it comes to undergraduate financial assistance.

Reply:First of all, you have to get in then you can get a scholarship. And Harvard has need-based scholarships, so it's only if you don't have the money that they provide grants and funds. What do you have to do to get into Harvard University?
I'm a freshman and I want to know what I should be doing or grades I should be getting to get in. It has been my dream to be a lawyer from Harvard ever since the fifth grade.
What do you have to do to get into Harvard University?
Maintain a gpa of a 3.7, score well above norm on your SATs, get involved in afterschool activities, and stay out of trouble. You should do fine.

Reply:I graduated from high school with a 4.3 GPA...got a 2100 on my SAT...got 800's on two SAT II's and 750 on a third one...took seven AP exams and got 5 on all of them except one where I got a 4.
I went to 4 different high schools in 2 different countries (Israel and Taiwan, I went to international schools).
I wasn't big on extra-curriculars but I did do varsity soccer, filmmaking club which made a film about cancer research and the Terry Fox run. The reason I was not involved in extra-curriculars so much is because for the first two years of high school I had no opportunities to (didn't speak the languages of the countries I was living in).
I was rejected from Harvard, Princeton, and Yale.
No one from my high schools got into any of those universities (I had the second highest GPA at graduation).
My point is: getting into any of those top Ivy League universities is damn near impossible. If you have high caliber grades, the next thing you need is LEGACY (which means someone in your family went there), or you need to do an extracurricular so unique that it separates you from the pack (MUN and Key Club won't cut it).
This is the sad truth about those universities. Demand is WAY WAY higher than supply. If you feel like spending $70 per application and you think you may have a chance, go for it (I did). But remember, there are other universities out there that are just as good. I am being tested in physics at the University of Toronto and I'm happy.
Also, if you want to be a law student at Harvard, you would be applying for graduate school, so you'd need a bachelors degree from another university (not necessarily Ivy League).

Set it as your main prioraty, dont goof of in school, try to praticapate in sports, but not so much that you dont have major time to work on school work and you should be gettting straight A's if not A+. Sounds like a lot of posters have connections to one of the schools or has preconceived notions on them. I didn't go to either but from a unbiased perspective here are my thought. Besides the obvious distance between the two, both schools are top tier universities and are very selective with admissions. Depending on what you plan on studying one school might have a stronger program than the other, US News and World Reports does an annual ranking of schools by course of study, and it can provide some insights into the individual majors. A lot of people on here have commented that Harvard isn't worth it or that not everyone that goes to Harvard is that smart, blah, blah, blah. Harvard University has one of the strongest alumni networks in the world, and networking with those alumni offers students there opportunities other schools can only dream of. Depending on what you plan on studying it can help you in you career as well. I work in finance and in my industry its much harder to even be considered for some of the more prestigious jobs (research analysts, hedge funds, etc.) without the name Harvard or Wharton, or Stanford, etc.. on your resume, no matter how great your experience is. Why, alumni! Alumni from those schools have a proven track record of success, and employers will look for potential candidates that share traits with existing outperforming employees. Let's face it, both schools offer a quality education, and yes, there are other smaller schools, less well known schools that offer the same quality, but no other schools offer the opportunity that Harvard %26amp; Stanford do. Opportunity is the name of the game when it comes to competing for a job. I would lean towards Harvard more than Stanford if just because of the alumni factor. While other people can debate about the merits of going to an ivy league school, what can't be debated is the opportunity the school creates for you.

Both of these are very expensive, and very, very, very selective. You should have a good reason for choosing them, and it MUST be a reason that matches your goals in life.
I'm not sure how old you are, but if you are younger than 18, your high school counselors have lots of information about these and other colleges. If they feel these match your goals, you could not do badly at either of them - they are both among the top universities in our country and in the world.
Just make sure they're right for you.

Your test may not be enough, and the alumni has to be one of the donating types that helps support the school. BOth of those things will help, but I would also suggest spending a year at a different very reputable college and get a perfect GPA. One with Harvard Grads teaching your courses preferably.

Harvard University has come across my list, however it does seem a bit intimidating. Not only do the rumors scare me (well, nobody should believe rumors, right?) the price is also very high. I have heard many intriguing facts about Harvard, and how it is highly ranked, however I would probably feel pressured and worried to attend Harvard. It is still possibility, though.
